I have been using the CamelBak products for years now. I like them, but I like the older ones better. When going warm weather hiking or camping, it's nice to have a cold beverage. I pack this thing with ice then add water. I can keep adding non chilled water to the ice and keep a cold drink on hand while I'm out. I can leave it in a hot car and come back to a cold refreshing drinkeasy to handle and transport maintains the perfect temperature of liquids for up to 12 hours or more I liked it a lotI carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go. My most recent water bottle lost its grommet after years of heavy daily use. This was my replacement. I am not disappointed. For those who complain about it not being cold many hours later, my response would be that you need to drink more water! It keeps water nicely cold for a long period of time, which isn't that big a thing to me because I refill it several times a day. This is the latest version of the Camelback chute. It keeps liquids hot or cold for an incredibly long time. My ices stays for hours in the southern summer heat. One upgrade with this version is that it is slightly thinner and taller. This allows it to finally fit in my cup holder in my truck. I have the original version as well and it has lasted for 6 little league coaching seasons. Very durable.Great water bottle. Keeps water cold for most of the day easy, The cap works well too. Easy to unscrew and the cap does't fly back and hit you thanks to the magnetic top. Overall very happy.I'm not being over hype with that title, I am picky when it comes to good water bottles. I like a chug spout and not a straw because I've always found straw water bottles cumbersome and silly. However, finding a chug spout that is secure while also remaining convenient and functional isn't always easy to do.This Camelbak gets it JUST RIGHT. It has screw threads on top that easily twist off. The top has a magnet in it which secures itself to the side of the water bottle when open. These things are also heavy duty. Seriously. Very nice thickness to the metal and it will keep things cold for a long time. I've left ice water in the bottle that was still cold over 24 hours. Also I've dropped these bottles multiple times on concrete and they've held up to the abuse. And if your cap does managed to get banged up, Camelback offers cheap replacements for these. In terms of what size to order I feel like the 20oz is the perfect size. It fits in your hands the best while still holding a good amount of liquid. I also own a 32oz but I find at this point the bottle is starting to get too big. It becomes too thick to fit in most car cup holders so I'd only recommend the 320z and 40oz bottles for those who need a lot of water to stay cold for a while as opposed to someone who just wants a convenient everyday bottle.Couldn't recommend these enough, don't just buy one, buy 2! Or 3! You won't be disappointed.Exceeded expectationsI bought this bottle for walks in warm weather. On warm days you need extra water, so I wanted a one-litre bottle. I wanted it to be insulated because water in a single-walled bottle becomes unpleasantly warm after a few hours in the sun. This bottle fitted the bill.I was also attracted by its double cap. I like bottles with a wide mouth to facilitate drying and cleaning, but it is more straightforward to drink from a bottle with a small aperture. The double cap offers the best of both worlds. The double cap on this bottle also sports a sturdy carry handle and a magnetic feature (hence the "Mag" in the name) which keeps the small cap from flopping against your face when you tilt the bottle up to drink. Both caps are screw-on so they are secure against leaks, unlike a flip-top cap.The bottle looks compact for its volume, at least when set next to my Stanley vacuum flask which has half the capacity. This made me doubt whether the CamelBak has a capacity of one litre as advertised. To start with, the one-litre figure is incorrect even though it is imprinted on the bottom of the bottle as the metric equivalent of 32 ounces. 32 fluid ounces translates to 0.95 litres. I do not have the means to accurately measure volume, so as an alternative I stood the bottle on an electronic scale, zeroed the displayed weight, and filled the bottle with water. In secondary school I was taught that one litre of water weighs one kilogram, so this is the weight that should have been displayed on the scale with the bottle full.Filling the bottle up to just below the neck, that is to say about an inch down from the top, gave a reading of 912 grams. Filling the bottle right up to the top increased the weight to 963 g, but this is unrealistic as a measure of capacity because you need some clearance to screw the cap on. This admittedly rough-and-ready test indicates that the bottle's capacity is definitely less than one litre and, in practice, it falls slightly short even of the lesser figure of 0.95 litres. This is a marginal issue, however. What matters more is whether the bottle succeeds in keeping its contents at a constant temperature. CamelBak says this bottle can keep drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for six. I have not tested this, but I have used the bottle on walks lasting several hours on sunny days when temperatures in the shade were in the upper 20s Celsius (actual temperatures in the sun would have been considerably higher) and it kept my water cold. The downside of this bottle is its weight. It comes to 479 g empty, or almost half a kilogram. However, you cannot expect an insulated stainless steel bottle of this size to be lightweight. Interestingly, the measured weight of this bottle is less than its official weight of 493 g as given by CamelBak on its website. Most of my gear weighs more than advertised—this bottle is one of the few exceptions. The Camelback™ vacuum insulated bottle with new style magnetic Chute™ lid definitely lives up to the quality you expect from the brand. Over the long and hot summer I have used the bottle while working in a non air conditioned hangar during the hottest parts of the day when the temperature reached above 30°C on a regular basis and the liquid inside was always as icy cold as the moment it was filled, my work colleagues were surprised/envious to know that I even still had ice cubes in my water 2 hours after our shift started!Highly recommend this for anywhere you want a good amount of cold drink as the litre size bottle keeps things cold for a long time, as of now I have not tested the ability to keep hot drinks hot but will update the review once the weather cools down and the coffee replaces the ice water.I just wanted a water bottle to help me drink more during the day. Probably didn't recognise that it was vacuum insulated and therefore likely to weigh quite a bit. However, I love the magnetic connection, that all the black top part unscrews to make it easy to empty/fill/clean. Not used it for hot water yet to see how it retains heat.Love the look of it and how it feels, but it is heavier than I expected which means I can't put it in my netted side pocket of my backpack. I tend to chop and change between using this one and a very cheap, plastic water bottle depending on where I am, where I'm going...Looks great and holds a lot of water. It's not very well insulated which is disappointing. I add ice before going to work and after an hour when I arrive there is no ice left. The bottle is easy to clean and the drinking part makes it seems like drinking out of a regular bottle, there is no weird straw. With this bottle I use it for work mostly. If you put it down on a desk it makes a loud clank as the bottom is metal. This is totally fine just a warning to others if you work in a quiet place like me. Get a coaster too :)Having already purchased a 0.75L plastic Camelbak Chute I was impressed with the design so thought I'd upgrade to an insulated Chute. Again I'm impressesd with the product, it's very well made looks great, the magnetic cap is a great idea. The only thing I would say and the reason why I only gave 4 stars, is that it's a bit large and heavy for hiking, I would have opted for another 0.75L size if they were made in that size, 1L is a little large whilst 0.56L is too small.
