Now if we're talking about vacuum cleaner belts, that's a different story. After my belt started slipping (had a difficult time determining this) I decided it was time for a replacement. In the meantime, I just tried to turn the original belt inside-out to get a couple more days out of the vacuum. This worked with some limited success, but by the second time I used the vacuum, I could smell burning rubber (not the kind that comes from my 1970 Camaro). Belt came quickly and was tighter than I expected. Some effort got the belt installed and the vacuum works like new. Old belt lasted about two years. This was a genuine Hoover belt (as described). Product is highly recommended.
